Automated Venipuncture. Built from conviction.

HEMˣ is developing an automated venipuncture system that detects veins and can place IV access. What began as an independent project is now evolving into a MedTech initiative with the ambition to make one of healthcare’s most common procedures more precise, reliable, and patient-friendly.

Our Story

HEMˣ started with a simple idea — and a long-standing fascination with medicine and technology.

In October, that idea turned into action.

At 18, without a lab, without a team, and without external funding, development began in a bedroom. What started as a small, almost experimental project quickly became something more serious: late nights, early mornings, constant iteration. Building, testing, rethinking — over and over again.

Driven by one clear question:

Why is one of the most frequently performed medical procedures still so unreliable?

What began as a bedroom project grew step by step. Early prototypes led to deeper technical understanding. Conversations with medical professionals brought real-world perspective. Interest from industry and experts validated the need for a better solution.

But the core never changed.

HEMˣ is still built on the same mindset it started with: question assumptions, focus on what actually matters, and keep improving until it works.

Today, HEMˣ stands at a turning point — evolving from an independent project into a serious MedTech initiative with the ambition to move toward real clinical environments.

Meet Our Team

“What started as an early vision is now being developed into a technology with the potential to improve everyday medical care.

And this is still just the beginning.”

Our Mission

At HEMˣ, our mission is to make one of the most common medical procedures finally reliable.

Every day, millions of blood draws are performed under pressure — in hospitals, ambulances, care facilities, and in regions where resources are limited. Yet success still depends heavily on experience, conditions, and time. Failed attempts are not just inefficient. They cause stress for medical staff and unnecessary discomfort for patients.

We believe this can be solved.

HEMˣ is built to bring precision and consistency into venipuncture, regardless of the environment. Whether in high-performance clinical settings, elderly care, emergency services, military operations, or underserved regions, our goal is to support healthcare professionals with technology that works reliably when it matters most.

By reducing failed attempts, we aim to relieve clinical personnel, save valuable time, and improve the overall quality of care. At the same time, we want to expand access to safe and effective blood collection — even in situations where it is currently difficult or unreliable.

Beyond improving a single procedure.

It is about setting a new standard: one where accuracy replaces uncertainty, and where patients and professionals alike can trust the outcome.

The Problem We’re Solving

Venipuncture is performed billions of times every year — yet it still fails far too often.
Multiple needle attempts. Pain and anxiety for patients. Time pressure for medical staff. Difficult cases with invisible or fragile veins.

Even today, success depends heavily on experience, conditions, and context.
HEMˣ exists to change that.

Our Vision

We see a future where blood collection and IV access work on the first attempt. A future where medical staff can focus more on care — and less on technical uncertainty.

A future where patients no longer fear the needle. A future where one of medicine’s most routine procedures finally meets the standard of modern technology.

Why HEMˣ

Because something this common should not fail this often.

Venipuncture is performed billions of times every year, yet it remains highly dependent on experience, time pressure, and patient conditions. Failed attempts are still routine — creating inefficiencies, increasing costs, and negatively impacting patient experience.

HEMˣ addresses this gap with a fundamentally different approach: bringing precision, consistency, and control into a procedure that has remained largely unchanged for decades.

What makes HEMˣ compelling:

A clear, global problem

A universal procedure with measurable pain points across healthcare systems worldwide.

A scalable solution

Designed to integrate into existing workflows — from hospitals to emergency care and low-resource settings.

Strong real-world relevance

Supported by early feedback from medical professionals and interest from industry and experts.

High impact potential

Reducing failed attempts means saving time, lowering pressure, and improving patient experience at scale.

HEMˣ is not just improving a tool. It is working to redefine a standard.
